Pumpkin Head Austin: Oct 26th.

November 5, 2024 By TCUCoach

The TCU Rowing Team attended the Pumpkin Head Regatta in Austin on Oct 26th. Our Varsity Mens 4+ placed 2nd with a very solid performance, right behind UT’s top crew.   The Novice Women did outstanding,  finishing 2nd in the “Minion” 4+ (check out their great costumes below) and 3rd in the Novice 8+.  A huge shout out to the Men’s Novice crew for their outstanding  improvement they have made.

Boston & Austin!

October 24, 2024 By TCUCoach

A huge “shout out” to our Varsity Men’s 4+ Crew who just returned from a very successful trip to Boston, racing at the Head of the Charles Regatta (HOCR).  It was an amazing experience to be one crew of 11 thousand participants in Boston.  The entire coaching staff and your Team mates are so proud of how well you represented TCU, Racing against some of the best Colligete crews in the country.

Coaches Sam Barnes and John Henry Mejia also had a strong showing at HOCR in their Men’s 2X race, that probably had more Olympic medalist racing than most countries won in Paris.

The entire Team now heads to Austin this weekend to race the PumpkinHead Regatta.  More to follow.

OKC Regatta Oct 5th & 6th.

October 7, 2024 By TCUCoach

TCU attended the Head of the Oklahoma which was two days of 4,000m Head Racing and a 500m Night Sprints under stadium lighting.  We had great representation with both our Men and women crews.  Our Novice Women took 3rd in a very competitive field.  Our Varsity men place first and third in two of the Head Race events. They also won the coveted Colligate 4+ night sprint Trophy,  edging out a scholarship programs entry.
Congratulations to the entire Team. Please forward me additional photos from the event and I’ll add them to the post.
