ROW HO HO 2021: Saturday Dec 4th.

December 7, 2021 By TCUCoach

TCU Rowers and FWRC took part in the ROW HO HO along with rowers from Dallas and England.  Everyone was in a festive mood with lots of great Christmas Costumes and Fun Races in 8+s.  The weather was perfect, especially for early December.  Winners of the costume contest were:  1st- Ashley FWRC/TCU, 2nd- Cassie FWRC, 3rd- Sarah.   We also collected toys for the SafeHaven Domestic Violence Shelter.

The first out to races were the women Crews.  They did several Sprint Races as well as a 25 stroke distance race.  The 360 turning race and the backing races added a unique technical element to the competition that most regattas don’t have.

Here is the victorious crews showing off their prizes.

The Men were next out on the water.   The crews did really well however the Reindeer Crew came out ahead.

Thanks to all those that organized the event. A special thanks to Faith and Sam that coxed all the races.    ROW FROGS!!

5,000m Head of the Colorado” AKA “Pumpkin Head” Austin: Oct 30th.

November 1, 2021 By TCUCoach

The TCU Rowing Team “Showed Up” in Austin, performing very well in Austin against a full field of University Crews.

TCU had a special visitor in Austin.

TCU had several other great races like our Varsity Men 4+  that had one of their best performances ever.  As you can see from the course map the big turn at the end of the race makes it a coxswains course.   You can see a full list of all the races here:https://herenow.com/results/#/races/20850/results

Congratulations to all. ROW FROGS!!!

SteerHead 3,000m Regatta University Results:

September 23, 2021 By TCUCoach

Very tight competition especially between Baylor and TCU at this years SteerHead.  TCU came out overall ahead with three first place and three seconds.  Baylor was second overall with three first, two second and a third.  Rice unfortunately had to scratch a race with a student getting COVID at the last minute, however they still had some great racing.  Congratulation to all Teams.
