SIRA (April 18/19th). Plus Baylor recap.

April 17, 2025 By TCUCoach

On Friday April 18th our Mens V 4+ and 2X will be competing at SIRA. The 4+ is in a time trial with 24 crews.  Based on times they will then be given heats to race in which lead to a final.  Will post the link to the races here and on our social media.

On Saturday April 5th, TCU join Baylor, UT, and Texas Tech for “The Four Wars”.   Baylor hosts the event as they are so centrally located.  TCU Won the Men’s Varsity and placed second in the Mens Novice as well as the Women’s varsity and novice races.  Congrats to everyone.  This is a great 2,000m preparation for SIRA.

HOT Austin & SWEAT Dallas

January 8, 2025 By TCUCoach

TCU Competed in Austin at the Heart Of Texas (HOT) on Feb 22nd.  Cold weather delayed the start of racing on Saturday and cancelled several races.  The TCU varsity Men 4+ had a strong finish out placing third out of two full flights.  The Women’s 4+ had a great race rowing with three novices in the Open race.  We kept warm in our heated Tent.

The TCU Rowing Team Competed at SWEAT.

SWEAT on February 8th in Dallas.  It’s a 2,000m ERG Race.

Baylor Regatta: Nov 16th

November 18, 2024 By TCUCoach

TCU was very well represented at the Baylor Regatta.  The Mens Varsity 4+ won their race by over 40 seconds.    The Mens Novice placed second in their 8+ race.   The Novice women were very well represented with two 4+s & and 8+ medaling silver with and bronze. Our varsity women rowed outstandingly in the WV 4+ and also competed in the Mixed 8+, as well as the Mixed 4+ medaling in each of the mixed races.  It was a great day of racing to finish up our offical fall season.   On Dec 7th we will take part in the FWRC ROW HO HO.

Pumpkin Head Austin: Oct 26th.

November 5, 2024 By TCUCoach

The TCU Rowing Team attended the Pumpkin Head Regatta in Austin on Oct 26th. Our Varsity Mens 4+ placed 2nd with a very solid performance, right behind UT’s top crew.   The Novice Women did outstanding,  finishing 2nd in the “Minion” 4+ (check out their great costumes below) and 3rd in the Novice 8+.  A huge shout out to the Men’s Novice crew for their outstanding  improvement they have made.

Boston & Austin!

October 24, 2024 By TCUCoach

A huge “shout out” to our Varsity Men’s 4+ Crew who just returned from a very successful trip to Boston, racing at the Head of the Charles Regatta (HOCR).  It was an amazing experience to be one crew of 11 thousand participants in Boston.  The entire coaching staff and your Team mates are so proud of how well you represented TCU, Racing against some of the best Colligete crews in the country.

Coaches Sam Barnes and John Henry Mejia also had a strong showing at HOCR in their Men’s 2X race, that probably had more Olympic medalist racing than most countries won in Paris.

The entire Team now heads to Austin this weekend to race the PumpkinHead Regatta.  More to follow.
